PARIS APARTMENT VISITORS' COMMENTS

Our Paris apartment attracts guests from all over the world. This is what they said:

To begin with, the booking process was flawless, so easy and quick. You were very patient with my endless questions and queries and all of your answers came in very handy when we actually got to Paris. In addition, all of the information provided at the Studio itself was so helpful,we ate at many of the places you suggested and the local info was great!

The studio itself was absolutely perfect!! The location was superb, we walked everywhere. The room was just what we needed, very cosy and
comfortable. All in all, a fantastic time, thanks to the studio and all of your help, our stay in Paris was completely unforgettable! I have already recommended it to several other people. Jess Hunichen, Christmas 2007

We both had a really great time thank you and found the apartment ideal for the two shorter stays that we had. We would definitely recommend your apartment to any one that we know who is planning a trip. Your attention to detail with the information provided was amazing and something we have never come across before. Many Thanks. Fiona F. Sept 2007

Hi John, Would just like to sayhow wonderful we thought your apartment was. We have had quite a few holidays in Paris staying in a hotel in the north of Paris, so we found the location of the studio perfect for getting around either walking or by metro and the area felt very safe at night too. We enjoyed having breakfast at the end of rue des Acacias in the little cafe where the ladies were very friendly and also had a meal at the restaurant next door L'Oree des Champs which was very enjoyable. We will be recommending your apartment to family and friends but hope it doesn't get booked up before we arrange our holiday for next year.

We had a really lovely time in Paris, the studio had everything we needed and was in an excellent position for exploring Paris! You made booking arrangements really easy for us, and getting into the studio was easy (once we'd worked out how to open the door!) so thank you very much! We can't remember the name of it, but the creperie a couple of streets away was excellent! I will definitely recommend the studio to anyone i know going to Paris! We've also looked up your other property which looks lovely so may be in contact in the future!! Many thanks Rob and Naomi, UK

Hello John, We had a fantastic vacation, and your studio was great. The information you supplied for the arrival, and departure was very helpful, as was the local map provided. Everything was superb, Thank you Lydia & Paul W., Canada
John,

Jane and I would like to thank you for a wonderful stay! The studio was just about perfect! We really can only praise your accommodation, the bed was extremely comfortable, having the kitchen facilities was great, we loved the wine, but most of all was the ability to submerse ourselves in the neighborhood... the truly Parisienne experiece.
It was so nice having the Patisserie on the corner of Acacias and Carnot became our morning mainstay, except for Sunday, the we went to L'arc.
As far as dinners, for a decent meal, at a decent price....we found The Beer Station on MacMahon to be extremely friendly and good (ask for Oliver!) We also tried the two newer restaurants on the corner of Rue L' Arc De Triomphe and Lanzarac (?) The first was L'essential, extremely good food, with a pirce tag that was maybe a little more than modest, but well worth it! (Try the guinea fowl....it was outstanding!)
The other restaurant, is the LR, this place has been open for two months, but I believe they will be another winner!
Sights.... I cant even start to name them! Paris is so fantastic! Try to see them all... walk, by all means walk!! And when you are tired, the Metro, RER and buses can get you to where you want to be!
I have to stop now! I could go on forever!
Thank you so much again for the wonderful studio in the most wonderful of cities... I will definitely recommend Rue l" Arc De Triomphe~
Cheers, and Merci, Merci beacoup!

We had a lovely time thank you! I thought the booking arrangements were pretty simple and easy and that the information was very helpful, especially to do with how to get there from the airport and how to get into the apartment. Everything to do with the studio was good .The nicest thing about the studio was sitting at the window table with the french windows open listening to the quiet streets around it.
We went to 2 particularly good restaurants nearby, caffe caesar 'restaurant italian' at the top of avenue carnot made the best pizza i think i've ever had; the owners were very friendly and it only cost us 24E each for a pizza, a beer and a lovely dessert- a reallly reaalllly good tiramisu! The other really nice place we went (we actually went twice it was so tasty) was chez clement about the 2nd restaurant down from the arc de triomphe on the champs elysees; the price varied on the menu but you could get a rotisserie menu for 17.50E which was for either a starter and main or main and dessert, or you could get all 3 for 22.50E. Before 7pm or after 10.45pm the price for all 3 courses plus a drink was 19E so very good value for money and delicious too! The patisserie/cafe at the end of rue des acacias was cheap, friendly and tasty. You could get a massive filled baguette/panini with a dessert (croissant, pain au chocolat etc) and a drink for 5.50E and croque monsieur was only 2.50E there- the cheapest i saw it on our holiday, and the plain baguettes from there were very cheap and very tasty. The boulangerie at the other end of rue des acacias was somewhat more expensive but made really nice little quiches. Thanks for providing us with a lovely place to stay to enjoy our holiday. Thanks again, Gemma S. , UK

John, We had a lovely time. thanks for your professionalism. We just got back to London, and will be sending the mailbox key to you from there tomorrow. a marvelous experience. we went to Le Souk, in the Marais, and loved it. Moroccan food. The Tagine Canette was outstanding. Keith D., USA

First of all we would like to thank you for the good bottle of wine which we found at our arrival. It was really great and we appreciated it a lot. I would mention :- The new museum Quai Branly .- One very nice restaurant called " Vin & Marée" situated at 165, Rue Saint Honoré 75001 Paris. We would like to tell you we really appreciated our stay in Paris and we thank you very much. Ali & Irène Vilain. Tunisia

Just to say we had a really lovely time, we found the booking arrangements really easy, the info was all useful, and the maps, and the studio was perfect - seriously couldn't fault it. We go to Paris quite regularly so we will definitely be in touch to book again! In terms of restaurants, ones that we really like are: Chez Gladines - very simple south westerm French cuisine, very studenty, very cheap and great food (Rue des Cinq Diamants, 13e) Brasserie Balzar - traditional brasserie, very good food, very popular (Rue des Ecoles, 5e) Riad 27 - Moroccan, really nice food and a bit off the beaten track (Rue Madame, 7e) Chartier - great lunch spot, old soup kitchen-type building - very traditional (Rue du Faubourg Montmartre, 18e) Would recommend all of them - have been many times and always had great food!
Kind regards Claire K. , UK

I have just returned from France and thank you , we had a wonderful time. Such a gorgeous city! The apartment was great; perfect for what we wanted, we tried to make the most of our stay, by seeing heaps of sites and getting out and about all over the city. I found your information provided very useful and we certainly used much of the information and the little local map provided. We caught the Air France bus which was most convenient and the quick access to a Metro station was great. The apartment itself was well positioned and very quiet. Equipment was fine in the apartment . All in all excellent, and I would recommend it to friends as the price and location are great. I also thought your service and booking system were user friendly. A few people have asked me how I found it, so could you please send me again the web address or link for your place.Thank you. Judith K. East Fremantle, Australia

> Now we come back to Auckland.[/bold] Thank you very much for your lovely wine and apartment in Paris. It has everything we need there. We have passed your studio information to my two friends. They will contact you when they go to Paris. Best Regards Jing G., New Zealand

Hello John, We really enjoyed staying in the apartment....it was all that you said it would be, very nice place to stay indeed. Regards Carrie S. USA

Hi John, Having a great time in Paris, the Apartment is just what we need.. fantastic location. Alastair G, New Zealand

Hi, I had a great time in Paris and enjoyed the apartment. It's well organized and nicely decorated, with good kitchen supplies too, and in a nice area. As I've been to Paris a couple of times before I didn't spend a lot of time reading through all the info available at the apartment, though it must be enormously useful to visitors less familiar with the city. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it was getting to the Bibliotheque Nationale at virtually the opposite end of the city--the RER/metro connections are very good there. Most of the restaurants I tried were more in the center rather than close to the apartment, though I liked the sushi place on the far end of rue de l'Arc de Triomphe (I know, nobody goes to Paris to eat sushi, but I'm a fan).I'd definitely recommend the studio to others! all the best Jeanne N. , UK

We had a great time and everything was as we expected. The booklet you left in the apartment was very helpful It came in handy. We would have no hesitation in contacting you in the future if we decide to return to Paris and we have recommended the apartment to several of our family and friends. The location is excellent. Ronnie M. Scotland

Hi John, Our week in Paris was fantastic, think we got a good week for weather too as it was blue skies and sun everyday but one.Our holiday was great. We found the apartment very easy to find. The location was perfect. The surrounding shops and resturants were delicious. Especially a Pizza resturant at the bottom of the hill then right. We would likely choose to stay in the same location on future visits to Paris. M. Gibson. UK

Thank you for letting us stay with you – we had a wonderful time. Restaurants we recommend: Ma Bourgogne (19, place des Vosges. 75004 PARIS), traditional French cuisine, outstanding food at mid-level price, specializing in Steak tartare, great wines...takes a map to find it. The second recommendation is for Le Comptoir (5, Carrefour de L'Odeon 75006 PARIS). Dinner reservations almost required, recommend going for lunch. The lamb is absolutely delicious, as well as the creme brulee au cafe! Kevin & Lauren Nebraska, USA

The information you sent was first class and made the logistics much easier and indcates the professional way in which you organise things. The instructions on how to get around CDG were particularily useful.. On the apartment I would make the following comments: -
• Great location
• Excellent value for money
• Very comfortable bed
Had a great time in Paris and spent a good lot of time looking at pictures. Used contextparis.com for organised gallery tours. They were very good. John M . N. Ireland

We had a terrific time in Paris and the apartment was great. Your list of necessities was so helpful, especially the cheap grocery stores because everything was so expensive. We even used the TV/DVD to watch a couple of movies. That was nice and relaxing. I thought we'd be going non-stop, but we needed some time to rest as well!
I hope next time I can bring my husband and we could again rent your
cute apartment. Thanks for all you help and making our trip to Paris a great success!! Vicky H., USA

Just a quick email to say we had a great time in Paris and loved staying in the studio.

The studio is excellently placed for walking. We only used the train to get to Gare Du Nord. We really enjoyed visiting Pere Lachaise and the Rodin. The organic market was also great fun. And the local markets were good.
We didn't eat out that much as we were too busy walking and sampling market and shop food and drink. We did go to the pizza place very nearby and also the Corner Cafe on Avenue Kleber and enjoyed both of these. One week just showed us how much there was to see and we will definitely be back. We will also recommend others to the studio. It took a few days for my French to warm up but we persisted in speaking back in French to the whole of Paris who seemed to insist on English. Thanks once again. We had a wonderful holiday. Jo and Martin, UK

Hi John,The apartment was wonderful - and so Parisian. It definitely made the holiday being able to stay so centrally in such a fantastic place, we will be spreading the word to anyone I know heading out there to drop you a line and see about availability. Thanks as well for all the info on the area, all of which came in handy. Purely for info if its any use to anyone, we parked for free out in Ville de Neuilly not far from Pont du Neuilly metro stop, who would have believed that parking on the street in Paris could be free?! Emma H. , UK

We had a really good week in Paris thanks to our “home from home” stay in your studio.
We found the care and attention given to the booking, arrival and departure information was very helpful and removed any anxiety over booking on the internet. The bottle of wine on arrival was very much appreciated!! We used the supermarkets in Rue Poncelet as recommended and found the prices to be reasonable. We did not eat in any special restaurants but found the Restaurant Monte Cristo on Avenue de Wagram very good value. It is situated near the Arc de triomphe at the top of Wagram next door to the McDonalds. It is open from 11am -11pm and is self-service. You choose either an entrée or dessert and a main course and a drink for 9.50 euros.

Because the studio is so well situated we found we could get to any part of Paris very easily and quickly on the efficient Metro. On Wednesday we went to the Louvre. It is open until 10.30pm on Wednesdays. We went in the morning then took the direct train back to the Studio for lunch then back for the afternoon and evening.

We hope that we will be able to book your studio again sometime in the future.
